More Than a Drop
Open students’ eyes to the various facets of water, from raindrops to aquifers. Students will be challenged to think about where water comes from, how it got there, where it ends up, and how it is being used. Conservation is the main message!

- Skittles (1 bowl per group)
- Small pebbles (1 bowl per group)
- Spray bottle with water (1 per group)
- Paper towels (as needed)
- Pencils
- Paper or journal
- Washable blue markers
- Heavyweight white copy paper (1 piece per student)
Activity Preparation
- Please note that slides 1-17 provide background information and are intended to serve as a review. Students will have a better understanding of this lesson if they have already been introduced to the processes of weathering, erosion, and deposition as related to watersheds and landforms.
- Review slides 18-23 of the PowerPoint prior to starting the lesson to see the set-up procedure.
